“Mana pašveidotā latvietes identitāte seko nevēsturiskai, ikdienas izpratnei par latvietību caur pagānisma ticējumiem, kuri atspēlējas pret nostalģias ‘retro’ 80 gadu latvietību. Šī mākslas sērija atspoguļo dzejisku izpratni par mantotiem sapņiem, vārdiem, ritmiem un vizuāliem mākslas darbiem. Visi darbi 2025. gada vasarā bija izstādīti vienkopus un piestāvēja vasaras koķetīgai omai ar retro latvietības izjūtu.
Uzaugu Ņujorkas latviešu sabiedrībā, mācījos Jonkeru Latviešu skolā un Katskiļu Nometnē. Absolvēju vidusskolu, un pārcēlos uz Portlandi, Oregonas pavalstī, kur turpināju mācības Reed Koledžā. Rakstīju par urbāno arhitektūru un sociālo mākslu savam augstskolas zinātniskajam darbam. Absolvēju Reed Koledžu šā gada pavasarī iegūstot ‘major’ grādu Mākslas vēsturē un ‘minor’ grādu Reliģijā.”

“My self-constructed Latvian identity follows a non-historical, everyday understanding of Latvianness through 'pagan' practices that play against a nostalgic 'retro'/80s Latvianness. This art series reflects poetic understandings of inherited dreams, words, rhythms, and visual works, all coming together in the summer of 2025 with a cozy, retro-Latvian feeling.
I grew up in the New York Latvian community, attending Yonkers Latvian School and Catskill Camp. After high school, I moved to Portland, OR to study at Reed College. I wrote my thesis on urban architecture and social art, and graduated this past spring with a major in Art History and a minor in Religion.”
